We offer screenings, evaluations, individualized therapy, parent coaching, and language enrichment groups to address speech and language needs. Our goal is to help your child achieve speech and language developmental milestones and enjoy communicating!
Our services are primarily provided in the child’s home, which is convenient for our families. Services can also be provided in other settings, such as a private library room or at the park.
I’m Kristin Al-Atrash, a Speech-Language Pathologist (SLP), mother of three, and owner of Speaking of Fun Speech Therapy. I am certified by both the American Speech-Language and Hearing Association and the state of Texas and have been an SLP for more than 20 years. I have a Bachelor’s degree in Communication Disorders from Abilene Christian University and a Master’s degree in Speech-Language Pathology from Texas Christian University. My professional experience is working in both the public and private school settings with children 3 years through high school and providing language enrichment group activities for toddlers and preschoolers. I absolutely love engaging with children and helping them improve their communication skills! Providing an environment where they feel comfortable and enjoy coming is important to me. At Speaking of Fun, we believe therapy should be play-based, engaging, and fun!
As a mother, I understand the pressures parents feel to make sure their child is meeting speech and language milestones and on the right track for being successful in school. At Speaking of Fun, we believe in working closely with parents to educate and empower them to help enrich their child’s speech and language, while enjoying the process! Details of Services Provided:
Screenings:
Speech and language screenings are $30 and are completed in your home, daycare, or preschool/school location. Screenings look for communication red flags and can help determine if a formal evaluation is warranted. Group screenings are available for daycares and preschools.
Speech and Language Evaluations:
Both formal and informal measures will be used to assess your child’s communication during a 60–90-minute appointment. Formal measures include specially designed tests to assess your child’s speech and language abilities. Informal measures include communication information collected from the parent/caregiver, and observations during play and interaction with the SLP.
Speech and Language Therapy Sessions:
Individual speech therapy sessions are provided by an experienced Speech-Language Pathologist in your home or in a public space such as a private library room. Therapy sessions are 30 or 60 minutes in length. Time toward the end of each session includes parent involvement/coaching and a chance to ask questions.
Parent Coaching:
A 30–60-minute session between the therapist and parent to answer questions about speech and language development and demonstrate communication-rich strategies and activities to use at home. Parent coaching can be a one-time session or several sessions.
Language Enrichment Groups:
These small group classes for preschoolers are led by a licensed SLP and designed to enrich your child’s vocabulary, listening skills, and receptive and expressive language. Classes are centered around engaging stories, songs, and play activities appropriate for preschoolers. These classes are a great way to boost your child’s language skills and get ready for school in a fun and social environment! (Classes are one hour per week for 6 weeks.)
Our services are private pay only. This allows us to begin therapy with little or no wait time, and the number of sessions are not dictated by an outside establishment such as an insurance company. In addition, your child will receive one-on-one services based on their needs, rather than solely on academic needs as in a school setting. We accept cash, check, debit or credit. When appropriate, parents/guardians may be able to receive reimbursement from their insurance using Superbills (A medical receipt for therapy can be provided for you to give to your insurance company for possible reimbursement.)

Speech-Language evaluation-$225
Language Enrichment Group Session-$220 for 6 weeks (1 hour per week)
(*Length of therapy sessions are determined by the child’s needs based on assessment data.)
